I can’t tell you how many times the wires get caught on something and the headphones get yanked out of my ears as I curse the sky.

Or they get tangled up and I look like a dumbass as I try to untangle them and look cool at the same time.

It’s almost 2010. I’m really surprised these don’t exist.

Bluetooth 2.0 does stereo audio. Go for a pair and use them with your computer (relatively simple if you have a Mac), your cellphone, or buy a Bluetooth dongle for your iPod and go crazy.

So that is about it. How is it going on your end?

I’m doing really well. I still have numbness too, but I have gained a lot of feeling back. Now it sort of feels like there’s a rubber band around my neck, which is even weirder than the numbness. December 18th will be the 6-month mark since I was diagnosed with cancer and it seems like that was a lifetime away. I definitely appreciate life a lot more. It made me realize how quickly it can be taken away.

I know what you mean about the lifetime away stuff. My diagnosis was in late August after a few months of tests and labs and other stuff. It is almost quaint to think about the first time a doctor said that one side of my thyroid was bigger than the other back in March.

Also, speaking of my neck, whenever I touch my right ear, the numb part of my neck tingles like it is being touched. Weird and wild stuff.

I haven’t talked to anyone else with thyroid cancer., It is interesting to see the similarities and differences. IM me sometime and we can compare notes. gravimetric @ AIM.

I can’t remember how I came across your blog, but I’m glad I did. I read in one of your posts that you had a thyroidectomy due to Thyroid Cancer and you were getting radiation treatment….I went through the same deal in June/July. I was wondering how you’re doing now?

Hello there thyroidectomy buddy.

I got done radiation treatment in late October and things look pretty good. There was no migration of cancer and the remaining thyroid cells seem to be eliminated.

I really bottomed out on energy during that time, but going on synthroid really helped me feel better (even though 137 mcg made me feel jittery at first). Sometimes I have occasional bouts of tiredness and fatigue when I take my dose late or work above a moderate pace.

The thing I’m having the hardest time dealing with is the neurological and emotional effects. My neck is petty numb around the scar and that freaks me out a little. Also, I have some phantom itching that is just as annoying.

The worst is not knowing how to feel about having cancer. People gave me a lot of attention at first and I soaked it up because I was so scared. Now, though, I feel like it was all too easy to overcome. I mean, papillary thyroid cancer is 90%+ treatable/curable (I forget which it is), but the quickness of how it was dealt with has left a strange cluster of feelings in my head. I had never thought about getting cancer before it happened, and now it feels less than profound.

So that is about it. How is it going on your end?
