How come no one likes Jon Huntsman?

golden-notebook:

I think he’d be a great rival to Obama in the general election.

I don’t get it. Why don’t Republicans like him? Are they priming him for 2016? Is 2012 already a lost race?

Huntsman is like a more moderate Romney, but with less flip flopping. While a general election voter might like that (campaigning down the center worked for Obama), the GOP Primary season is a right wing purity test.

Huntsman is also a Mormon (like Romney) and that weirds out the evangelical wing of the Republican party.

But just think, if Huntsman surges too late and comes in second by the convention, his ascendency in 2016 looks good.

Hey, it has worked for Romney so far.

  6. thefremen answered: Right now David Duke would be a more favorable candidate. That’s what the GOP is all about these days.

thing about Hunstman is...Democrats than he does to actual Republicans.
  8. birdmechanical answered: He also seems to be the clear Democrat favored Republican. And in an uber conservative, tea party influenced race, that is poison.
